AI voice verification, built for trust

AI Voice Detector: Check if a Voice Is Real or AI-Generated

Can you trust this voice?

Voice cloning can now convincingly copy a person's voice from just a few seconds of reference audio. Our detector checks whether a recording is real or AI-generated.

AI Voice Forensics

What we check in a recording

Acoustic spectrogram analysis identifying neural vocoders, cloned timbre, and synthetic pitch cadence.

AI-Generated & Synthetic Speech

Flags ElevenLabs, Bark, XTTS, and VALL-E acoustic frequency anomalies.

Voice Cloning & Biometrics

Identifies unnatural breathing patterns, robotic pitch flattening, and phase gaps.

Spectrogram & Audio Forensics

Examines high-frequency cutoffs, neural vocoder signatures, and audio tampering.

How it works

Verification in three steps

Step 01

Upload a voice recording

Drag in a clip or click to upload — MP3, WAV, and M4A all work.

Step 02

We analyze it

Our verification engine checks the audio signal for generation artifacts and cloning signatures.

Cloning tools

One general-purpose check, not a per-platform lookup

Voice-cloning tools like ElevenLabs, Resemble AI, Murf, PlayHT, Speechify, and Descript all produce synthetic speech that can sound convincingly real. Our detector is built for the situation most people are actually in: you don't know which tool, if any, was used on a suspicious clip, and need a general AI-or-not signal rather than proof it came from one specific platform.

Some platforms, including ElevenLabs, offer their own first-party classifier that can be highly accurate on that platform's own output specifically. If you already suspect a particular tool, checking there too can add a more specific second opinion.

Works on the voice itself, not the words

Detection analyzes the audio signal, not a transcript — so it works the same way regardless of language or accent, and doesn't depend on understanding what's being said.

Who it's for

Built for every kind of voice verification

The FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center logged roughly $893 million in AI-related scam losses across more than 22,000 complaints in 2025 — much of it tied to impersonation and cloned-voice fraud.

Fraud & security teams

Flag CEO-impersonation and wire-transfer fraud before money moves. In one documented case, fraudsters cloned the voice of Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto and convinced a business leader to wire nearly €1 million before authorities intervened.

Individuals & families

Verify a suspicious voicemail claiming to be a family member in distress — the "grandparent scam" pattern the FTC has warned about, now easier to pull off convincingly with a short cloned audio sample. The same cloning tools increasingly show up in dating and romance scams too.

Journalists & researchers

Verify that a leaked audio clip or quote is a genuine recording, not synthesized, before publication.

Legal & investigations teams

Check audio evidence for signs of voice cloning or synthetic speech before it's relied on.

Recruiters & educators

Confirm a spoken interview answer or assignment was delivered by a real person, not synthesized.

No detector is 100% accurate

Detection accuracy varies by clip length, background noise, and how much the audio has been compressed or re-encoded — a voicemail forwarded through several messaging apps is harder to analyze reliably than the original recording. If you suspect a specific voice-cloning tool was used, that platform's own classifier may give a more specific answer for its own output. For anything involving money or access, verify the person independently — ideally by calling them back on a number you already know and trust, not one from the suspicious message itself. The same limitations apply to any detector, including ours — see how and why detectors can be wrong.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How short can an audio clip be and still get an accurate result?

There's no hard minimum, but very short clips give the model less signal to work with, which lowers confidence. Longer, cleaner recordings produce more reliable results.

Can it detect ElevenLabs, Resemble AI, or other specific voice cloning tools?

Our detector gives a general AI-or-not signal that isn't tied to one specific platform, which covers the common case where you don't know which tool, if any, was used. Some platforms, including ElevenLabs, offer their own first-party classifier that can be more specific about their own output — worth checking too if you suspect a particular tool.

Does background noise or phone call quality affect accuracy?

Yes. Background noise and the compression that phone and messaging apps apply can weaken the signals detection relies on. A cleaner recording is easier to analyze reliably.

Does it work across different languages and accents?

Yes — detection analyzes the audio signal itself rather than the words being spoken, so it isn't limited to a specific language.

What audio formats are supported?

MP3, WAV, and M4A, up to 50MB per file.

Is my uploaded audio kept private?

Audio is used only to run the verification check. We don't sell your recordings. See our Privacy Policy for full details on retention and third-party processing.

What should I do if a call or voicemail is flagged as likely AI-generated?

Don't act on instructions from the message or call itself. Verify the person independently — ideally by calling them back on a number you already have and trust — before sending money, sharing access, or making a decision based on what you heard.
