AI video verification, built for trust

AI Video Detector: Check if a Video Is Real or AI-Generated

Can you trust this video?

There are two different problems people mean by “AI video detection”: spotting a deepfake — a real person's face, voice, or actions altered in otherwise real footage — and spotting fully AI-generated video — created entirely from a prompt with tools like Sora or Veo, where no original footage ever existed. Our detector checks for both.

AI Video Forensics

What we check in a video

Frame-by-frame neural inspection examining generative diffusion, facial tampering, and temporal flow.

AI-Generated & Synthetic Footage

Flags Sora, Runway Gen-3, Pika, Kling, and Luma Dream Machine latent artifacts.

Deepfakes & Face Swapping

Analyzes facial landmark stability, blink cadence, mouth sync, and edge warping.

Temporal & Optical Flow Coherence

Inspects inter-frame consistency, background morphing, and synthetic jitter.

Step 02

We analyze it

Our verification engine checks frames for generation artifacts, deepfake manipulation, and provenance signals.

Generator coverage

Detects video from every major AI generator

Our AI video detector identifies fully AI-generated footage from tools including Sora, Google Veo, Kling, Runway, Pika, Seedance, and Wan, alongside deepfake face-swap and lip-sync manipulation. We continuously update detection as new generators are released.

Works even when metadata is stripped

Detection works on the video content itself, not just embedded metadata — which matters because EXIF data, C2PA credentials, and other provenance signals are commonly stripped when video is uploaded to social platforms or messaging apps.

Who it's for

Built for every kind of video verification

Newsrooms & fact-checkers

Verify breaking-news footage, protest videos, and crisis footage before publication — the exact category of content that spreads fastest during fast-moving news events.

Fraud & identity verification teams

Detect real-time face-swap filters used to bypass KYC checks or impersonate someone during a video call, including in hiring interviews and financial authorization calls.

Insurance & claims teams

Check submitted dashcam or incident footage for AI manipulation before approving a claim.

How insurers are catching AI-edited claims →

Corporate security teams

Screen video calls and internal communications for deepfake impersonation used to authorize fraudulent transfers or extract sensitive information.

Content platforms & moderation

Screen user-uploaded video at scale for synthetic or manipulated content.

No detector is 100% accurate

Detection accuracy varies by generator, video resolution, and how much the file has been compressed or re-uploaded — a video shared repeatedly on social media is harder to analyze reliably than an original file. Treat results as one strong signal alongside source verification and context, not a final verdict. The same limitations apply to any detector, including ours — see how and why detectors can be wrong.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a deepfake and a fully AI-generated video?

A deepfake starts with real footage — a real person's face, voice, or actions — that's been digitally altered, most often through a face swap or lip-sync manipulation. A fully AI-generated video is created entirely from a prompt using tools like Sora or Veo, with no original footage involved at any point. Our detector checks for both, since they leave different forensic signatures.

Can it detect face-swap videos, not just fully AI-generated ones?

Yes. Alongside our AI-generation scoring, every video gets a separate deepfake risk score that specifically checks for facial boundary manipulation, biometric inconsistency, and other signs of face-swap or lip-sync editing.

Does video compression or re-uploading affect accuracy?

Yes. Heavy compression, resizing, and repeated re-uploading — the kind that happens automatically when a video is shared on social media — can degrade the pixel-level signals detection relies on. A video pulled directly from the original source is easier to analyze reliably than one that's been through several rounds of compression.

Can it detect AI-generated video calls in real time?

Not yet. Today, our detector analyzes uploaded video files rather than screening live calls in real time. If you're concerned about deepfake impersonation during a live call, use a recording or screen capture from the call as a supporting check rather than relying on real-time screening.

What video formats and lengths are supported?

We support MP4, WebM, MOV, and M4V, up to 200MB and 60 seconds per file.

Is my uploaded video kept private?

Videos are used only to run the verification check. We don't sell your videos. See our Privacy Policy for full details on retention and third-party processing.
